Brénazet organises several activities during the week : canoeing, Yoga, a pancake evening with the french “ jeu de boules” game and “table d’hôtes”, dinner with the other guests. Kids love the pool, the little playground and the space they can explore. More.. |
In the area you can take walking or biking excursions. There are bikes, canoes and kayaks available. Local rivers provide ideal canoeing. Route maps for these activities are available for you. We can also provide you with maps of surrounding villages.
The oldest oak forest in Europe, La Forêt de Tronchas, only a short car trip away, offers both plenty of shade and natural swimming waters. The Gorges de Sioule and the Allier River are ideal for the beginning canoeist or kayaker. Anglers can choose from different fishing ponds while st. Pourcain features a golf course. The historic cities of Vichy, Clermont-Ferrand and Montluçon are well worth a visit for their characteristic town centres, museums and churches.
In summer, many villages organize markets, brocantes, craft fairs (fête à la ferme), medieval festivals and other festivities. Montmarault offers a number of grocery stores and a supermarket. If you would like to eat out, we can suggest some restaurants.
Directions
Brénazet is a 6 hour drive from Calais. These directions (choose hoverport Calais and Allier, Vernusse) will guide you from Calais to Vernusse. In Vernusse you will reach a crossing which has a Brénazet sign posted, guiding you to the left. This road curves to the right bringing you past a number of farms. At the end of this road, you will reach Brénazet where we will welcome you to our farmhouse.
